Pageant eligibility requirements

Miss Teen India Michigan:

Any young lady of Indian origin (regardless of her place of birth) between the ages of 13 and 17 inclusive (as of December 31st of the year she participates) and never married is eligible to participate. The contestant must be a resident of the state of Michigan (living in the state for a minimum of six months). Appropriate documentation regarding the age and residency status of the contestant must be submitted in order to meet eligibility requirements.

Miss India Michigan:

Any woman of Indian origin (regardless of her place of birth) between the ages of 18 and up, inclusive (as of December 31st of the year she participates), and never married is eligible to participate. The contestant must be a resident of the state of Michigan (living in the state for a minimum of six months.) Appropriate documentation regarding the age and residency status of the contestant must be submitted in order to meet eligibility requirements.

Mrs. India Michigan:

Any woman of Indian origin (regardless of her place of birth) of any age, who is married, widowed, divorced, with or without children. The contestant must be a resident of Michigan (living in the state for a minimum of six months). Appropriate documentation regarding the age and residency status of the contestant must be submitted at time of registration in order to meet the eligibility requirements.

Indian Traditional

Final Question

Indian Traditional - This section should have the candidates express a sense of fervor for Indian style and appropriateness. The Indian Traditional section of this competition is designed for the judge to assess the candidate’s beauty, poise, grace, and stage presence. The candidate’s overall look will be considered. Her traditional Indian attire (not the value of the dress) should complement her individuality. Indian Traditional attire must look Indian. It is permissible to wear a saree, lehenga, sharara, shalwar suit, anarkali. We recommended that the candidates not wear a gown.

Evening Gown - Evening gown should express a sense of style and appropriateness for the contestant. The Evening Gown phase of competition is designed for the judge to assess the contestant’s beauty, poise, grace, and stage presence. The contestants overall look is considered. Her evening gown (not the value of the evening gown) should complement her individuality. Evening gown must be floor length.

Talent Competition - The duration of this round will be a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 2.5 minutes. Any talent presentation below or over the time allowed will be immediately disqualified. Candidates should plan a performance that’s within the said threshold. Judges will be informed immediately if a candidate runs over her allotted time. Each judge will assess the candidates knowledge of her talent as well as the quality of her performance.

Final Question - The top 5 candidates will proceed to this round. Each candidate will be asked one final question by one judge. The candidates will be judged on her poise, knowledge of the question and the quality of her answer.

Additional Awards - For each pageant, all contestants will have the chance to be awarded with the title of Miss Photogenic and the title of Miss Beautiful Smile. This will be a public vote that starts one week prior to the competition. Winners will be crowned on the day of the pageant.

Registering for a Pageant

All pageants will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

Contestant fee:

  • $150.00 nonrefundable application fee due when application is submitted on or before March 30, 2023

  • $150.00 nonrefundable application fee due when application is submitted after April 1, 2023

  • Last date to submit the application is June 4, 2023

  • Credit Card, Venmo and PayPal are accepted

  • If paying with Venmo, make sure you have enabled web purchases in your Venmo settings. Fill out and submit the application on your mobile device. When you check out, select Pay with PayPal and you will be given the option to checkout with Venmo.

  • India Michigan Pageants, Chrysalis Couture, and Utsav Planners, Inc. are NOT responsible for the contestant or any of her personal belongings.

  • The contestants must behave in a manner befitting the title of Miss Michigan India, Mrs. Michigan India, or Miss Teen Michigan India.

  • All judge’s decisions are final.

  • Due to COVID-19, dates may be subject to change. We will notify the contestants accordingly. If circumstances require us to cancel the pageant, all fees will be refunded in full.
